How do you know whether your belongings will be safe in your storage unit? What do you do if anything happens? When it comes to our stuff, safety is usually our primary concern. And with good reason.
Hi there, welcome back to Flex TV. My name is Hope and I will be answering all of your storage related questions. And today we have a question from Dana. What Dana wants to know is, are storage units safe? This is one of the questions that I get more often than any other question, because it’s important to each and every one of us to have our stuff stay safe and secure. Now there are different kinds of things that you need to think about when it comes to safety. There’s security measures, there’s whether the unit is insulated or not to protect it against the elements. And of course there’s cleanliness and pest control, which is no less important because you don’t want a bunch of roaches all over your stuff. So more than anything, Dana, the answer is sometimes they are safe and sometimes they are not. I regret to say that there have been break-ins in storage facilities. There have been leaks, stuff like that. So it’s very, very important that you check specifically who you go to. A lot of vendors don’t really put that much work into it. Make sure you see the unit on your own. Make sure it’s well insulated. Talk to your rep, ask about the protection plan. Don’t make a mistake with this kind of thing. You don’t want to have to recover all of your stuff. And even if it’s insured, it really sucks to lose everything because of a little rain or because of a break-in. So Dana, in conclusion, check the fine print, speak to your rep, make sure that you get the best possible units that you don’t regret it later and you can have peace of mind. Thank you guys.
