Storage facilities offer the convenience of accessing your stored items when you need to. But what about nights, holidays, or weekends? Are storage facilities open 24/7 to accommodate visits? Watch Flex’s concise video to learn everything you need to know.
Hi there, this is Hope with Flex TV, thank you for joining us again. I’m going to answer all your questions about storage, so that you can make an informed decision and get the best possible storage solution for you. Today we have a question from Dan, and Dan wants to know whether storage facilities are open 24 hours a day. So this is important to a lot of people because sometimes we work long hours, we don’t always have the time to go in the middle of the day, and we want access after hours. If we forget something, if you want to throw something into your storage unit and just do it quickly, it’s really important to have access whenever you need it. And the answer is a little complicated because sometimes they will be open 24 hours and sometimes they won’t. So it’s all about reading the fine print and choosing the right provider. Once you choose your storage provider, you should really ask them, ask your rep or make sure in your contract that you can have 24-7 access that’s independent. You want to be able to use your own key card or fob that you can just go into the facility anytime and access your unit. What are storage units all about? They’re about accessibility, about convenience, and about flexibility. So you want to always be able to open your unit whenever you need it. So there are outdoor storage units, indoor storage units, some of them are gated so that you can’t get in whenever you want. Some of them will have operating hours where you can visit and you can’t visit outside of those operating hours, which can be really difficult because you don’t want to plan your day around your facility. You want your facility to be there for you whenever you need it, anytime. So basically, you want to check ahead of time and make sure you have 24-hour access because you’re going to regret it if you don’t. Another option that’s super convenient and I personally prefer is just go with portable. You can call it to your home anytime. You can have it delivered or you can even store it on your property. It’s called on-site storage. It’s super convenient. And then you can just go out to your yard and unlock your unit. You’re not going to depend on anyone opening or closing a gate for you. Now, sometimes a lot of people think that it’s going to be more expensive, but in truth, it’s usually not. So do your research. Make sure you know what you’re going with. Store smart. Thanks so much for joining us.
